It's never too early to think about your next yoga retreat, so check your calendars and consider joining us in the spring. Co-led with my sister Sara Beck, yoga teacher and owner of Catskills Yoga House, mama, published author, and all around amazing being, we look forward to sharing in yoga and other renewing practices together at this special time of year. Details will be coming soon, so stay tuned!
As we move into a brand new year, we're given the wonderful opportunity to assess how we're caring for ourselves and whether it's working for us. How's your energy? Sense of well-being? Ability to be resilient? Daily Digestion? Sleep quality? Overall vitality? When you look back on the last months of 2018, have you nourished and supported yourself in the ways you’ve wanted to?
Coming off of a successful and powerful Fall Reset Cleanse where participants experienced shifts big and small in their energy levels, habits around self care, skin clarity, weight and overall wellness, I'm excited to offer you the Winter Cleanse where we'll explore these ideas together. We'll come together again for 10 days, and eat seasonally, simply and supportively so we can start the year in an embodied and connected way.
This cleanse is not about deprivation or an attempt at starvation, but instead gives you practice eating and living well in order to feel more balanced and vibrant in your everyday life. It’s a detoxifying experience for not only our physical bodies, but also our busy lives, clouded minds and distracted spirits. My hope is that participants near and far restore their physical and emotional bodies by reprioritizing the time spent taking care of themselves.
Cleanse Eating Plan:
On days 1-5, we’ll limit animal protein (fish and eggs OK) and remove gluten, dairy, highly processed soy and other foods, caffeine, alcohol and sugar.
On days 6-10, animal protein will be removed altogether.
The Winter Cleanse includes:
a 20-minute coaching call with me (Registered Dietitian & wellness coach) to share current challenges and intentions for the 10 days
Daily food plan (a blend of seasonal and anti-inflammatory foods)
Simple, delicious and easy-to-prepare seasonal recipes
Instructions for mindful routines and wellness rituals
Daily emails with encouragement, motivation and accountability
Tools & recipes for cravings
A supportive community
Add-on discounted yoga and wellness coaching**

“My favorite part was that I wasn’t hungry between meals, and I even lost a few pounds.”

“I found it so helpful to have the meal plan and recipes. It just gave me a really solid foundation to work from. I also really enjoyed the daily emails. They helped keep me focused on what I had committed to for the 10 days.”
“The recipes were great and easy to follow. I tried things I don’t eat on a regular basis but realized I actually love. So glad to be inspired by how I feed myself and my family, and I can’t wait to join the next time!”

I'm so excited to teach the 2nd class in the Spring Yoga Series hosted by the amazing local surf and outdoor gear shop, Patagonia Bowery. The 2nd class in the series will be focusing on yoga poses to open and support more stability and spaciousness in our hips, and the wellness topic following class will be about why adding color to your diet is so important.
If you didn't catch the first class, it's OK. Come this time or any of the following dates (5/2, 5/16, 5/30, 6/13 and 6/27). Classes are complimentary and will be 7:15pm – 8:15pm in the store. There will be some mats available on a first come first serve basis, so bring your own if you have one.
Definitely tell all of your friends about it, and join me in spending the Spring season focused on living well!
As we move from winter to spring, not only is it a good time to refresh our home and swap out the clothes in our closets, our bodies, too, benefit in a big way from a good spring cleaning. Taking an honest look at how we're feeding and caring for ourselves is incredibly important and so is cleaning up and supporting the detoxification systems in our bodies. Even if your diet is exemplary, doing a quarterly or semi-annual cleanse is helpful in removing toxins from your body and giving your organs a chance to reset.
Starting April 23rd and running until May 22nd, I'll be leading the Cleanse & Restore Program with Acupuncturist Oceana Baity again, and we would love to have you join us! If you've participated before, we look forward to having you jump in again. Curious? Consider giving it a try this season. And for those of you who are already signed up, invite a friend to join you and commit to creating new health habits together. There's definitely power in community.
The cleanse is 30 days, and you choose your level of commitment-what you eat or omit and how you show up.
Level 1: Easy does it. You will commit to taking the Cleanse and Restore supplements daily, drink plenty of water and eat a whole food, plant-based diet . You’ll focus on three wellness goals for the month that you can share with me and get some support around. Simple. Everyone can do this!
Level 2: This is Level 1 plus you'll cut out out refined sugar, gluten and dairy. You’ll aim to move your body everyday, and crystalize your commitment to your wellness goals and your health so that they become a integral part of your life.
Level 3: You’ll do everything in the first two levels plus cut out or reduce caffeine and alcohol. These can be challenging but very powerful shifts for people, and you will have the support you need to make this a reality.
The month is broken up into three phases.
Days 1-10: We take whole food based supplements and essential oils to cleanse our liver and support our body in it's natural cleansing process.
Days 11-20: We tackle the digestive tract and support healthy elimination.
Days 21-30: We rebuild and nurture the gut with highly potent pre & probiotics and essential oils to support our cellular health.
There is no cost to participate in this program other than purchasing the doTERRA Cleanse and Restore Kit ($245). It includes all of the supplements you'll be taking throughout the month as well as a lemon essential oil. We also recommend adding a few other essential oils to your order - On Guard, Balance, Peppermint and Clary Calm - to support your adrenal glands, stress levels and sleep patterns throughout the month, too.
You'll be added to a closed facebook group where we'll provide motivation, post tips, education and recipes and where participants will be invited to share experiences, struggles, observations, and more. If you're not on Facebook, no worries. Oceana and I will send emails out 3x/ week on various wellness-related topics to support you throughout the month. I am also available for email support as needed when questions arise or you need extra support.
Ready to join?! Let me know, and I can get the cleanse kit ordered for you. Not sure yet? Email me and I'd be happy to talk though your questions and reservations. It's a subtle, yet a deeply profound opportunity to observe your daily habits, look at what's working for you and what's not, cleanse your body, transition successfully into this new season and make a commitment to being well.
Can't wait to embark on this journey with you!

Spring is known as a time to rid your home of accumulated clutter so you can have a fresh and light start to the new season. But spring cleaning doesn’t just apply only to physical clutter; your body and mind can benefit from a cleanse as well.
In Spring, we emerge from the dark period of winter and return to the budding of new life. As the days become longer, we have the opportunity to restore ourselves physically and energetically. In this workshop, we'll start with an hour of yoga and move through standing twists to detoxify and cleanse, as well as yin and restorative postures to ground, center, and connect as this new season unfolds.
During the second part of this workshop, learn how you can create a non-toxic spring cleaning routine - for your home & body - incorporating food, cleansing practices and pure essential oils into your routine. We'll make a room spray together, and you'll learn how to make and replace several of your day to day cleaning products.
Open to all. Kindly RSVP.

As many kids are out of school election day, I'll be teaching yoga class in my LES apartment specifically for them. When kids practice yoga, it not only gives them an opportunity to exercise, strengthen and stretch their body, but it teaches them to make a connection to their breath, to learn how to engage thoughtfully with others around them, to manage impulsivity and to improve their focus and concentration. Of course, this doesn't all happen in one class, but each time they practice, they have the opportunity to learn new skills and understand how their body and breath can support them.
Time: 8:45-9:45am (5-8 year olds) and 10-11am (9-14 year olds)
Cost: $20/ child + $10/ sibling(s).
Please have your child bring their own mat (I have a few extras but not enough for everyone). Also, please note that this is a drop-off class.
RSVP to firstname.lastname@example.org
Join me at my apartment for a casual discussion on how you can use pure therapeutic grade essential oils as part of your personal & family health care regimen. As we move deeply into the fall and anticipate the intensity of the holidays, learn how specific essential oils relate to immune health, digestion, sleep, focus and more. Please RSVP to email@example.com. Hope you can join!
As the autumn days get shorter, darker and colder, there is an energetic shift during this season. Schedules shift, responsibilities change, and it's easy to feel scattered, anxious and like you've lost your footing. You're definitely not alone in experiencing this. There are tools, though, that can help you get grounded and reclaim your balance. In this two-part workshop, one part asana plus one part discussion, we'll start outward and move inward. Using yoga poses and breathing techniques you can practice at home, begin to find a greater sense of steadiness and harmony in your body. Then, learn how specific foods, essential oils and other self care practices can ease your mind and spirit inspiring you to enjoy a healthy, contented autumn and winter.
Join my daughter Isabel and me in our LES apartment and learn how to use essential oils to promote an overall sense of health and well-being, why they're effective and where to source them. For moms & daughters/ nieces/ friends (10-14 - can be flexible on this, so just ask).
